Back in the Saddle Again

We're home from vacation! We had a lovely time in DC. Spending time with my aunt was wonderful---my son loved her, we got to see lots of friends and family, and we all had a fabulous time! Yay!

But now comes the post-vacation reset. I didn't log my food every day while I was gone. We did a lot of walking, which was good. I wasn't super careful about what I ate every meal, but I think I did much better than I would have previously.

One thing I think I need to change is my stubbornness when it comes to weighing myself. I weigh myself several times a week, but I only like to record it if it's lower than what I've already entered on SparkPeople. What's more motivating? Watching the scale go up and down and up and down and just being honest about where I'm at? Or refusing to watch the scale go back up and trying to fool myself into thinking I'm steadily progressing? Tough call.

I think I need to be honest and record my weight, as is, three days a week. Sometimes weight goes up because you're gaining muscle. Sometimes it goes up because you went on vacation (*ahem*). So, starting today, I'll be recording my weight---good or bad---three days a week. The only person I need to be accountable to is myself, so lying to myself doesn't really do any good at all, does it?

I've also thought about rejoining Curves. Even if I go three days a week, that's still more weight training than I've been getting lately. I've done plenty of cardio, but I haven't done much toning at all. Curves has done wonders for me in the past, and I had a dream the other night that I rejoined. We'll see what the appropriations committee (i.e., my husband) thinks about that idea.

In the meantime, pray for me as I rejoin SparkPeople this week and get myself motivated!

I can't really identify with the scales yoyoing! I wish mine would at least! LOL But NOOOOO there they sit at the same 220 week after week! At least your's fluctuates! But you are right accountability to yourself is key and being in denial over the scales going up and simply recording the loses each time is defintely not progress! All you're doing is playing psychological reasoning and making excuses. Sorry dear girl but truth is truth. So it's back to being diligent with reality. Yes? Andif rejoining Curves helps you stay on track and accountable by all means I would be rejoining! At least you have that "luxury" I have NOTHING here in little old Coronation! So I have to be doubly accountable, stubborn and determined within myself to do my cardio and strength training all by me little ole self.
