My family

Monday, April 13, 2009

I started writing this in my family adventure section, but I feel like my friends on here who have cared enough to help me through this very difficult time shoud know a little more about me. This is about my family. This is where I came from and where I will always be in my heart. This is home..........................

We are a very close family. I have recently become the weight loss motivator for the family, but we all have lots of input. My dad, the firefighter of 36 years, can cook anything and is learning to make it healthy or take it in smaller portions. My mother has the willpower of a saint and when she sets her mond to it, watch out! My brother, Rick, lifts weights religiously and is kind of the resident personal trainer. Then there's me. Im the tom boy, the rebel of the family. Im stubborn, bull-headed and like things a certain way, my way. Im a fighter. I never settle when I know Im right, but if Im wrong, im the first to apologize and admit it. Im very passionate and emotional. I always think about others feelings and always try my hardest to treat people the way I want to be treated. Im learning to relax a little more and use my stubborness for my workouts. I have learned to love working out. Growing up, I was always playing sports and always active doing anything and everything that would keep my attention and keep me moving.

My family owns a small lawn business and while I used to hate it with a passion, Im starting to count it as my workout and noticing how even the smallest things make a difference. I am a very passionate person and this is what makes me so good at my job. Im a teacher and I wouldnt trade it for the world. I dont make a lot of money, but that has never bothered me. I love each of those kids as if they were my own and I look forward to seeing their faces light up every day when I teach them new things.

My new mission in life is to make my whole family healthier. I am already tracking my nutrition, fitness and weigh in/measurements, but starting tomorrow, Ill be doing this for my dad as well. Im so excited that I have motivated him. I have always been a daddys girl. My dad is one of my best friends, and having him work with me on this couldnt make me happpier. Now Im working on getting my mom and brother on here!

I really like this side of Erin! It is nice to meet the person you have become after so many years... I am happy that your dad has decided to challenge himself, too! I know this was hard, but you will see the joy that comes from looking forward and focusing on the light at then end of this tunnel we are in...

    Good job... good blog!
