Feelin' Good

Thursday, April 02, 2009

On two counts!

First: I ran the longest I've ever run--in my LIFE--this afternoon! Ok, ok, it was NOT fast. My pace wasn't even really moderate. lol. BUT I managed to run 2.5 miles WITHOUT STOPPING! Wow! I've NEVER done that. The longest I managed to run before this was 2 miles. By my last quarter mile I was REALLY feeling it. But I didn't stop. Hooray!

Second: This is also the longest continuous time I've run. I ran for 38 minutes! Again, this is something I've NEVER done. So exciting!

The running goals I set for myself to achieve within this year were to run 3 miles without stopping (this is feeling SO doable after today!) and to be able to jog a 5k in about 40 minutes. I was worried these were too ambitious, but I'm feeling like I can really do this! :)

And now, time for dinner and rest. Still tons to do before Monday comes, and still just a tad under the weather. Here's hoping this energy continues through the weekend though so that it's very productive!

WOW AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! :D My first 5K I made some new personal bests -- I think my time was 40:20, and it was both the longest distance AND longest time I had ever run. The longest time before that was 30min and who knows what the distance was... I KNOW you can meet your running goals this year and THEN some. DEFINITELY not too ambitious! :D CONGRATS!
