Not a fun Monday

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

The kids decided to both push their boundaries at the same time, so I spent Monday dealing with their bad behavior. They fought all morning & afternoon, argued, threw temper tantrums, and acted like spoiled brat children. But, they did get nearly everything done I had assigned them. Their DL school is having spring break this week, and instead of doing fun things they got to clean the bathroom, wash dishes, do laundry, and a few other things.

Yesterday evening went MUCH better. The kids were back to their usual selves by about 7 last night, so we ended the day on a good note. I'm going to enjoy the next few weeks of good behavior while they last. DS11 is turning 12 in early June, so I'm expecting a lot of pushing around then. His friends parents aren't nearly as strict with them as we are with our kids. They let their kids run all over and give them money to go to DQ frequently. Just going to DQ has the kids crossing a very busy 4 lane road, so for me it's a safety issue on top of my kids not needing all that junk food. Oh well...someday, probably many years from kids might appreciate it. Or at least understand why.
