Getting Ready for Fight It! 5k

I did a practice run on Saturday in preparation for the 5k at Central Park on May 16th. I was joined by my hubby and a few friends and was pleasantly surprised at how well I ran. I didn't do the final loop of the outside course and only ran about 3/4 of the entire 5k - but I did run 85% of it!

I noticed that running without my dog - which is usually a normal occurrence for me - is much harder! I didn't realize how many breaks I take while running with my dog - as he stops so often to sniff and hunt. He is usually on a 25' line with room to roam so I didn't realize just how much I was stopping!

My husband and I ran another 2 miles at the gym yesterday after a round of racquetball and again I was reminded how I need to focus on myself now!

I am going to take today off from running, and do a slower paced 3 mile walk with my pup and let my legs recuperate!
