Pushing through the last 3 weeks of my university career!

Sunday, March 22, 2009

In just 3 weeks I will have my 4 year BSc honor degree! Hard to believe! Come April 14th I will be FREE until Sept 7th! That gives me nearly 5 months of ME time! Then I will be doing a 1 year teachers college program which is a whole other story with stress/work etc, but not to worry I have tons of time before then.

To start off, I actually can't believe I'm graduating, like seriously it feels like yesterday that I was getting dropped off. I have to say part of me wishes it wasn't ending. Don't get me wrong I had a good time here, I did very well, and I learned a lot, but I definetley did not have the full university experience over my years. I avoided doing a lot of things, and I do regret some of these decisions, however it doesnt mean I can't make the best of what I have left and next year (I'm doing teachers college @ same university).

So these next 3 weeks are going to be a TON of work. I'm already scared that I may miss my workouts or go overboard with the food, but I have planned ahead to hopefully avoid this. I went shopping today and prepared tons of ready to go healthy foods for the week. Fresh cut fruit and veggies for breakfasts and lunches for the week, and I even pre-made dinners for a couple nights, a nice vegetable stew, brocolli/cheese caserole and some bean salad. I also scheduled all my workouts in my planner for the week that way they have to happen lol! I have been spending literally 3-4 hours a day in the gym 6, or most weeks, 7 days of the week, and this is something I won't be able to do over the next 3 weeks. So instead I'm focusing on high intensity training and maybe eliminating some of my walking some days when there isn't the time.

It feels so good to be so close, and I am so happy I am still sticking to this. My weight loss is starting to slow, as expected, but I feel great, have tons of energy and I got my first complement yesterday! Anyways heres to my last 3 weeks, then its ME time for 5 whole months!! yahyahyah!

Congratulations, Chris! It's such an exciting time!
I can't tell you how much I miss my college days...and, like you, kind of regret some of the things I held myself back from for whaever reason, mostly based on my size. But it's never too late to get in as much as possible. And it sounds like you are setting yourself up to enjoy it all, work hard AND still live healthy! You are just doing sooo fantastic! I mean, preparing meals ahead of time to prepare for being busy...amazing!
That shows everyone that there really is no excuse to not living healthy any more. If you can be that busy and still do it...anyone can. All it takes is a little preparation and dedication...you've got both!

It's awesome that you are getting to do Teacher's college at the same university...I can't wait to see how your first couple days back go after your summer for yourself! But...I don't want to rush summer!!! hahaha

5 whole months of uninterrupted time for yourself...to be eat and live healthy and workout to your heart's content...wow...I'm sooooo jealous! emoticon

This may be 3 tough weeks for you...but don't forget you've got a bunch of people in your corner wishing you all the best, cheering you on and here if you need a study break! haha

Good luck!!! Hope these weeks go wonderfully well! emoticon emoticon
