It's my birthday!

So today is my 30th birthday. That came up fast!

I had all of these goals, all of these, "I should have achieved ________ by the time I reach 30" type of goals. How silly they all seem now! A friend asked me if turning 30 was bothering me at all. I said yes, it was, and explained why. But... really, it's the "old" me saying that turning this age is any big deal. I have the rest of my life to get all those things I felt like I "should" have done by now right. There's no deadline for self-improvement, and certainly it's not as if I haven't made some pretty neat shifts in these past few years/months. I'm over it. Bring on my 30's. My 20's were pretty crappy, so let's be happy to see them go! I welcome the fresh start, 30's. May you be my best years yet!

    Well first and foremost, Happy Birthday! I hope it's a wonderful one. Second, thank you for the sweet words you left on my page. You are absolutely right on no expiration date on goals. I figure my 20's were my 'roller coaster years'...a mix of good and bad, my thirties so far have been my educational years- I've gone through stuff- but learned a great deal. I figure if this is so for both of us- why, our 40's will be fabulous. We'll have the hard stuff behind us. We'll be healthy and looking good! emoticon Age is nothing but a number to tell ya how many years you've been here. It's what we do with them that counts.
