Karen - have a great time on your first 5K. It's so much fun to be part of a race, and from your race no., it looks like it's a major draw. It's good to be excited and a little scared. Just keep to your plan and be careful not to jump out with the pack like a jack rabbit. Keep your pace steady and the adrenaline will carry you through the race. Racing has a very different feel from training runs--thank goodness. I love when I feel that first rush of adrenaline; sometimes it brings tears to my eyes.
Looking forward to reading about your race. May the sun be shining and the wind at your back.
