So, I just got home from my first 5k (well, first in the last 8 years..and the very first that I actually trained for!)...it was tougher than I expected - 3 long, tough hills.
My friend stayed with me and used her ipod+nike thing to track our pace and distance which really helped me keep chugging along. I was hoping to finish within 35 minutes which is my usual pace on the treadmill (minus hills, of course), so I was expecting it to take even longer once we started hitting those hills....finish line time: 30:46! :)
I'm hurting right now...mostly my feet since I have new shoes, but oh well...that's what 3.1 miles on concrete does so no worries. And, even bigger news - no knee pain!!
Yay! I did it..and I have another one in 3 weeks.
