WEek 1---Done :)

My first week as a Biggest Loser is finally over. I started the week by walking 2 miles around my neighborhood. I brought my dog along so we made many potty stops. We were finished within 45 minutes and I did feel winded because the last stretch is uphill. Later that day, I met a friend for lunch and a movie. We ate at Cheesecake Factory. I ordered the weight management chicken platter, which by the way is excellent! I noticed that they offered a low carb cheesecake so I ordered that to eat at the movies. Little did I realize how many calories and fat grams were in the cheesecake. After seeing Slumdog Millionaire, I drove home and went to sleep.

Monday was a quiet day. I ate well and logged in my food. And I went to a water aerobics class offered by my gym.

Tuesday started with a morning water aerobics class. Lunch was at a cafe inside a local casino. I ate the white meat from a rotisserie chicken and got a salad and veggies for the sides. That evening was nutrition class. The nutritionist spoke about carbs, fiber, and fat. She even mentioned Spark People as a great website to log in food. Go SP!!! Most of the info provided was stuff I already knew from SP.

Wednesday was good eating and our team workout. We did circuit training. It started with 30 seconds of jumping jacks, then push ups, resistance band curls, weights, and use of a medicine ball. I was sweating and my arms were so sore by the end!

Thursday was different. I was hoping to work so I slept most of the day. I wasn't called in so went to orientation for my second job. After we finished, I went with a couple of c-workers to a sushi place. I called my BF beforehand to find out what was healthy since she and her family had been there numerous times. I ordered the teriyaki chicken dinner, which included 1 cup of rice, miso soup, and a salad with a honey mustard dressing. After dinner was over, I headed over to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes. I attempted the elliptical prior to the treadmill but found that my thighs were burning too much from the previous night's workout.

Friday was more healthy eating. I crockpotted a mexican chicken stew which was super yummy. Then the trainer offered a last chance workout which I attended. We worked with machines, kickboxing bags, medicine ball and a strap thing. More push ups and jumping jacks were done.

THis morning, I woke up later than I had hoped so I brought my breakfast to eat after weigh in. I started at 266.0 and weighed in today at 261.4. I was excited that I had lost so much but was worried because others had lost more and had a higher percentage of weight loss. While waiting, I started to cry because I was worried about being kicked off the team. Even though we only meet up a couple of times a week for an hour, I feel bonded with my team and appreciate the thoughtful words and encouragement. Before our team workout, the trainer notified us that he decided to not eleminate nayone this week. However, next week 2 people from each team will be kicked off. The weight loss percentage will be cumulative between the 2 weeks.

So my goal is to step up my workouts and eat less calories. I am currently eating close to 1500 cals but feel that I could go down to 1350-1400 cals. It won't be too extreme and hopefully it will stimulate more weight loss. I enjoy going ot my water aerobics classes but am going to try other classes, such as Zumba and cardio kick boxing, to see if that helps.

THanks so much Mystyne! I think that the possibility of getting eliminated from the contest drives me even more to succeed at getting healthy. The best thing is that I am finally doing this the right way. No diet pills or extreme food eating. I will definitely focus on being positive and moving closer to my goals.

Wow! You are doing such a great job! Try to focus on the positive changes you are making this next week & not on the possibility of getting eliminated.
