Went to PT today & it turns out I don't have a torn meniscus at all. I've got a case of fat pad impingement, meaning the bottom of my kneecap pinches the fat pad on top of the tibia.
Went through a battery of questions & mobility tests; I've got good muscular strength & range of motion. Plus I've got "huge calves" & "big hamstrings" )quoting the PT LOL) which is good, b/c it helps supports my joints & keeps them healthy. I've got daily exercises & stretches to do & a follow-up appointment next week.
I got cleared to go back to kickboxing & running, though I have to balance things out w/ more yoga, stationary bike & swimming. I went to the first 30 mins of TKB class tonight & chose the low-impact versions of the moves. So far, so good. It felt awesome to be moving like that again. Yipee!
I'm _so_ ready to rock it (carefully & cautiously though hehe)!
