Week 8- Scales Totally Lie.

You know that old saying that us overweight people live by... "Scales never lie?" Well, mine does. Mine has apparently been lying to me for months now and I have been to naive or wrapped up in numbers to notice it.
Back story time!
The last time I was professionally weighed (like by someone who actually can work a sophisticated scale) was at the end of December. At that time, I weighed 189lbs. And that is when I decided that I was going to take advantage of my kinesology class and the new year to go back to my freshman year weight of 165lbs. So, I worked out for the first week and weighed myself at home. I weighed 183 (which meant an apparent awesome 6lb loss). My scale at home is a low tech one (not digital) and I weigh myself in our kitchen because it is the only tiled floor in the apartment.
From there, I re-started sparkpeople and my program began.
This weekend, I weighed myself on my roommate's digital scale in the kitchen. Instead of 168lbs (what my scale said), I weighed 174.5lbs. Yikes. That is a scary 6lb difference! I also weighed myself at my grandma's and the scale said 175lbs. This is where I start doubting the truthfulness of my scale back home.
So after debating it long and hard, I am going to adjust my numbers on my home page and on my sparkpeople tracker to reflect my real weight. I am also going to go out and buy a digital scale that I can trust. I considered keeping my old one and just going off of the weight from there, but I would know in my heart that the numbers I see were not right, and not right by a lot. If anyone has an opinion on this or recommends a scale brand, please let me know.
With that, I am not going to weigh myself this week. I am going to keep my numbers the same and start over at 175lbs. That is still a whopping 14lb loss from my original weight of 189lbs about two months ago. My goal of 145lbs by my sister's wedding will be kept and my short term goals will be adjusted accordingly. That being said, I am going to take away my March goal and work towards April.
But to recap this week...:
*I started calorie cycling. I am hoping it will get me out of this plateau I've been in for the past three weeks.
*I am still stuck on week 5 of C25K, but the 5 minute runs are getting easier and easier. Tomorrow's goal is to do D2.
*I lost an inch off of my waist! And boy could I feel it when I went and tried on clothes. Button up shirts in larges were very comfortable and not stuffy at all...
