get to like who I am

It has been almost a year since I started Spark. I have not reached my goal fell short by 20 pounds. In that years time I have changed my way of eating to a more healthier way. DD and her family moved in and we have improved their eating habits. By doing this I have been able to lower my cholesterol. I am walking more. And I have learned to eat healthier snacks.

I guess I am at a place in my life that can finally say I like who I am. I do not like my weight but I know I am changing that even if it is taking me longer than I have hoped.
I also have excepted the fact that I will have to work harder as I take many meds that I take have the side effect of weight gain.
I have learned that when you get past that magic age you have to work harder to shed pounds.
I have learned that my Grand daughter still loves me even when I have extra pounds on my mid section.
I have learned that it is the little things that count not the big things.
I have learned that it is not over for my diet just because I eat candy today.
I have learned that it takes more time to loss the weight from one piece of cake than one apple.
I have learned that I can not skip meals to loss weight That in fact I have to eat more .
I have learned that I can feel full after eating an apple on a small dish of cottage cheese.
I have learned that I still feel hungery after eating a full box of good and plenty's.
I have learned that I no longer look for food to save me from my stressful live.
I learned that a good long walk makes life easier to deal with.
I have learned that a new hair cut does wonders for the soul.
I have learned that it is ok to like me. That I am fun. I have a great way to laugh
I have learned that I do Love me.

    You are very wise! Regardless of how much or how little we weigh, we have to learn to love ourselves. All the pounds lost in the world isn't going to make a bit of difference if we don't feel good about ourselves. And I love the comment about the box of Good and Plentys- I used to LOVE eating those things!

    Congratulations in advance for your upcoming one year anniversary!!! Way to stick with it. You have learned so much in the past year. Things that you've learned will stay with you for a lifetime. I really admire what you've accomplished! I know that you'll lose that last 20 pounds too. With all you've learned it would be hard not to.
