First Race of 2009

Sunday, February 15, 2009

Today I ran the Last Chance for Boston Half Marathon. All I can say is BOY what a difference 4 months and a good training program can make!

My first half marathon was October 2008 with a finishing time of 2:26. I finished today's race in 2:07. I was very happy with my time today as it was a PR for me by almost 20 minutes emoticon

It is also interesting for me to remember how freaked out I was on race day back in October because the temperature at the start of the race was a "freezing" (according to my blog entry) 32 degrees. Although I will say as a general rule of thumb that I hate the cold weather, I have decided that colder temperatures are perfect for long distance running. Today's temperature was about 27 at the start and partly sunny.

Once again all I can say is BOY what a difference 4 months can make!
