Almost halfway across the country

Mileage update: 1402 miles down; 1428 left to go

For those of you who have been following my comings and goings, the last six weeks have been busy, and I had less access to my computer than usual, so I got behind in my logging and my blogging. Today I finally succeeded in updating my virtual walk mileage for the first time in about 6 weeks. I have completed 1402 miles, and I have 1428 left to go, which means I'll reach the halfway mark this week on my walk to Washington D.C.

For the purposes of this exercise, I am counting spinning classes as if the time I spent in them was time walked. This method undercounts miles since I can cover more in 45 minutes of cycling than I can walking, but It's fine with me. I feel great, and I am starting week 5 of the Couch to 5K program tomorrow.

I won't stay on long today. I'm trying to finish a baby blanket for a friend whose baby is due this Saturday, and get some stuff done around my house too.

So far so good.

    I love following your progress. You are such an inspiration to me. I know you, too, have had to overcome obstacles to get where you are today. My friend and I are doing a virtual walk to Mt Rushmore, but we only count what we do at the gym towards it. I have gone 100 miles so far. Keep up the great work!

    Half way across - WOW! I just started the same walk and it's slow going...I try to walk 30 minutes a day on the treadmill before work, which only equates to a bit over one mile. I haven't been logging pedometer steps during the day. Once I lose a bit more weight I'd like to try the couch to 5K schedule and mix in a slow jog, too. Anyway, WTG, from another Marylander!
