My husband asked me last night, "How's about I take the whole family out for a Valentine's Day brunch? Whatcha think about that, honey?"

He was surprised that I didn't bounce back with, "Yes, Yes, Yes," my standard response whenever he's in the past proposed an opportunity for me to eat.

Instead, I suggested that we save the money, and eat a nice home-cooked meal. My husband likes my cooking. But he also likes the socialization factor of going out. So, we've compromised on a Valentine's Day plan...

We're headed out (with the kids, if they so choose to join us) later today for a trip to the movies. We're going to see Slumdog Millionaire, which the hubby tells me is a romantic flick. Perfect solution, as far as I'm concerned!

I hope you, dear reader, have a wonderful Valentine's Day. I hope that you feel embraced (either figuratively or literally) by the love of the ones you hold dear. Mostly, my hope is that today you be kind and forgiving, generous and accepting of that one person who is unfailingly always there for you: yourself!

Do me a favor? Give him/her a big Valentine's Day hug from me! emoticon
