Good News!

Finally, some good news to report! I feel like I have only been posting sad news and having little pity parties. It feels so good to have good news to add. First and foremost, my brother is doing really well! I am absolutely sure this is due to the multitude of prayers that are being lifted on his behalf. The oncologist has said there is only a 30% chance of the tumor returning. He is doing radiation right now and the scan will be done in the middle of March. We pray that it is totally gone by that time. In the meantime, Jimmy continues to grow stronger and walk better on his own. He returned to church last Sunday and he said that he became very emotional when he thanked everyone for their prayers and support. For those who may not know, he is a minister. I always tease him that he has a direct hot line to God since he is a member of the God Squad! More and more, I think its true :-)

My nephew, who has MS at the age of 30, is finally in a program and getting some help, too. He receives shots 3 times a week and sees a counselor weekly. I think that is especially important to help with the social ramifications of this disease. We feel good about him, too.

The final good news is my oldest son and the police department. He began the interview process a year ago, knowing that it is a 18 month long process. They do a physical activity test, a written test, and then an interview. He made it through these three and received a letter today that said providing nothing turned up in the polygraph test, he is in! Yeah! He has REALLY wanted this! This is the son who is soooooo laid back and easy going, never gets rattled, and never gets excited, but, he gets excited when he talks about the police. Eventually, he would like to be a detective, but understands he has to work his way up the ladder. I am so happy for him. Its high time good things started happening for him. His younger brother seems to come by success much easier. So, now we keep our fingers crossed that there are no surprises on the polygraph and then the police academy will start. Stay tuned for further developments..........
