5K Training...

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

So I have been trying to work on the "Spark your way to a 5K". I was doing okay with it, had to add some time because I could walk or jog as fast as was recommended but on Monday when I tried the 3 min walk 2 min run, I couldn't last past the first minute!!! I thought I would be able to job through the entire pregnancy but it just wasn't working out for me. I have decided that I will try to get 2 miles in 30 minutes. That's a 4 MPH walk, which for a woman who is 8.5 months pregnant and who only has a 29 in. inseam is a pretty fast pace. We'll see.

Tonight I will get on the TM after work and see if I can't get it in. I don't know whether I can or not but it certainly seems to help my body move towards preparing for labor. At yesterday's appt. with the OB, little one is to use the words of my OB "locked and loaded"...he's ready to go, now my body just has to cooperate.

I am hoping that at 37 wks. I will deliver, it would make getting ready for my 5K race in May a lot easier, than if I was out until the full 40 wks. We'll see!!!
