So... another Kenpo class finished tonight, feel pretty good about it, but like the title says I spent a lot of time on my back. Rewind a bit here, Kenpo is a form that focuses more on striking, I enjoy that quite a bit as opposed to Jiu Jitsu which focuses on grappling. I'm learning as fast as I can but as usual not nearly enough it seems. Our instructor had us sparring towards the end of the class and as you all know I'm not what you would call "lightweight" so it wasn't surprising when our instructor pairs me up with a guy who knows more Jiu Jitsu than he does Kenpo. So that explains the the title. I think I'll go ask my brother-in-law to teach me a few basic grappling moves so I don't feel like a wet rag every time I get taken to the ground.
If you've been paying attention to my weight, you will notice about 1.5 pounds lost since my last weigh in. Not the best but I am proud of it (what that doesn't tell you is I've lost a pant size - woot). I do hope to see more weight loss on average per week tho. Still waiting for the snow to stop pouring Grrrr.... Hate going to the gym only to find it packed full.
Ah, something I want to share. I am not a morning person so breakfast has to be simple or I find myself cheating on whatever I can scrounge up at work which of course means junk food. I've found oatmeal and raisins to be one of the simplest and least time consuming breakfast so far - 5 minutes to cook and eat it. It's great but I definitely don't want to eat it every day of the work week, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Cya next time.
