Training for a 5K

In an effort to keep myself motivated I asked my niece to walk a 5K with me in the late Spring. She replied she would love to walk one but why not try March 21st. That is the first 5k of the season in Michigan. At that point she had more confidence in me being ready than me.

I reflected on a couple of choices but really knew that while it will require committment to get myself ready March 21st is the 5K for me.

My Spark one year anniversary will be on Marh 21st. The walk will be a great way to celebrate my progress. So with 8 weeks to go I am ramping up my walking to get ready.

    That's wonderful! I want to do a 5K run sometime this summer, but need to get some weight off first so my knees don't die... maybe I'll look into a 5K walk to do this spring as well. Keep walking, and reach for your goal. You can do it.

    wow - a 5 mile walk? That'd be neat to do. I don't know of any walks only runs around here. How do I find out about those things around where I live?
