Bootcamp - Beginning Week Four

After a little more than a year on SP, I joined the New You Bootcamp. I felt the need to jumpstart my weightloss following a 6-month maintenance period. So far, I've lost most of the 5 pounds I regained in that time and about half of the inches! It's progress, and I've decided to stick with the Bootcamp program for February, adding additional strength training 3 days a week.

Walking is my main cardio exercise, especially in the winter. Gradually, I've upped both the number of steps per day and the number of minutes per day. I find I have to be careful not to overdo, as it comes back to me the following day (probably due to a combination of thyroid problems, sarcoidosis damage to my lungs, and generally not being in shape even after a year on the program). So, "slow and steady" remains my mantra.

I still plan to go back to maintenance after another 5 months or so. I gained in roughly 20-pound increments (thanks to prednisone), so I'm trying to lose in a comparable manner. Once I hit one of those original plateaus, my body doesn't want to lose for a while, so I'm trying to work with it rather than against it. So far, so good.
