1 Peter 1 lists several facts, blessings and privileges of being a blood bought born again believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. One of those facts, blessings and privileges is the occasion to be afflicted with heaviness. I am not trying to be funny here. First Peter chapter one is not talking about our physical weight. But as I meditated on this verse I had the following thoughts. Nothing happens in the believers life without God directly ordaining it or specifically allowing it. (Hebrews 8:28). To what end, then, is this my 'season' of physical heaviness 'needed'? (I Peter 1:6) This one answer is consuming my thoughts: I need to be an overcomer and succeed at my weight loss so you can succeed at overcoming whatever it is in your life that needs overcoming. You need to be an overcomer so I can be successful. Read II Corinthians 1:4 I am searching for a spark here. Pray with me I will find it in Scripture.

Ahhh yes, Christ IS the Blessed Controller of all things and isn't it wonderful that He wants what is best for us? AND that He wants to give us the desires of our hearts? AND that He hears our cries even before we call out to Him?

You are ever in my prayers, Bill. Hang in there....
