Winter Wonderland

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

Well the great storm and chill has arrived. It is 10 degrees finally. The wind is blowing 13 MPH with gusts of 28 presently. The wind chill is -8. This is only to get worse through out the day and into Friday. The temp in the house is finally 65 after waking up to 58.

I attempted to shovel myself out. The snow fall was officially 5 inches. I have 7.25 of snow on the deck rail and the steps are 11 inches deep. The drift in front of the stairs is 17.75 inches deep. Of coarse this is higher than my boots!!
22 minutes into this grand shoveling adventure, I have an asthema attack and need a breathing treatment. The path I shoveled is blown shut already!!

I called the plow guy I am not gonna fight it. I can only pray he pushes it all back far enough I can get out tomorrow,

I HATE WINTER!!! emoticon

Ugh, I feel for you! We got 78" in the last 2 weeks of December, when our average for the YEAR is only 42". We've had a little bit in January, but not much. We have had multiple roof collapses throughout the city, and had to contract to have snow hauled out of downtown so that people can drive. It was crazy! But a lot of it has melted now with the warm winds we had last week, and it's starting to get chilly again. We aren't as cold as you though, 29 degrees. Bundle up & keep warm!
