starting all over again......

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

yet again! there are some issues in my house that absolutely contribute to my food issues, including the fact that everything that isn't nailed down, A eats. I could deal with that EXCEPT for the fact that she will eat a week's worth of food at one time. I am going crazy trying to figure out how to support us, and she will eat a pound of cheese at one sitting and then throw a tantrum because she is "hungry" (she's autistic).

Jars of applesauce, cans of anything except tomatoes or beets, whole packages of cutlets, you name it. and not always cooked.

So last night was the final straw. spent our last precious pennies on a week's worth of food, explained it all to her (she is VERY smart), put it away....and ten minutes later a week's worth of cheese was gone.

That's it. Locks on the pantry, freezer, and fridge. All meals/snacks planned. I hate to go this far but she's gone from 100 pounds to 150 in about 4 months.

sigh.

What a difference two years makes.......she looks great, generally watches portions, and recognizes that with summer comes the need to be more active. WOW.

I think the locks on the pantry and fridge sound like a great idea. Especially because eating some things raw could prove harmful or even fatal. *Yikes!

    Hang in there!

You sure do have some unique challenges. I hope the answers come to you. I am starting over, too. It seems like it gets harder every time. I have a 220 pound husband that eats everything in sight!
