Boot Camp: Day 3 and Big Losers

Tuesday, January 06, 2009

My day started out on an UP note: lost 7.5 pounds over the course of the past week. That includes New Years Eve, when I was less concerned with eating right, than celebrating. After weigh in, I headed off to work where I was greeted with a bag of candy that had been left for me by one of my bosses. He knows that this particular sweet is my very favorite's a chocolate covered toffee crunch that arrives like clockwork each Christmas from one of our business associates in the Midwest. I stared at that bag all day, and would occasionally think, "Girlfriend, you eat that candy, and you just KNOW that it will set you off on a sugar binge all day." Fortunately, I listened to that voice and avoided the temptation. But was a lonnnnnnnnng day.

After work, I picked up my son from his fencing practice, and it was then off to the library to bring back/pick up some books. Then, it was back home for The Usual Business: preparing tomorrow's lunch and the evening's dinner for everyone. By the time the family had been fed and the kitchen cleaned up, I was wiped out and more than a little concerned about finding the energy to pull off 30 minutes of aerobics, as well as Coach Nicole's video Boot Camp workout and challenge.

But I DID IT! And damn if I don't feel fantabulous for having made the effort! And lemme tell ya, nobody is more surprised than me...

Those 30 minutes of bicycling and reaching my target heart zone of 130 were made a heckuva lot easier because I was simultaneously absorbed in The Biggest Loser's Couple's first episode. What a trip!

See, I'm not a big TV watcher. In fact, I've been known to go months without so much as glancing at the tube, so this is something really new for me. It used to dumbfound me how some folks could sit glued before their televisions, practically addicted to one favorite program or another. But not anymore.

The Biggest Loser has become MY drug of choice.

Bottom line, it was a great day: I dropped 7.5 since last week, biked 30 minutes, and completed both the Boot Camp workhout AND challenge!

It's onto Day 4!

Woot Hoot!!!!!
