So what happened in 2008 that is worth noting?
I started the year at 174 pounds and managed to get down to 156.
After the holidays, I am back up to 164.... so lets just say that in 2008, I lost, and kept off, 10 whole pounds.
I'd say that's a pretty good thing, wouldn't you?

After we bought a house in September, we decided to go off the pill and "see what happens". So we are gearing up for a pregnancy any month now. Which is very exciting for us. We're all growed up now!
We have tried for the last 2 months with no luck, but I'm not really worried at this point. I was on the pill for 16 years and we really didn't "plan the deed" during the fertile period or anything.

So what's in store for 2009?
I would like to do a couple things..... I want to have a baby, and until I get pregnant I want to focus on losing 10 more pounds. If I could get down to 154, I'd be overweight no more.
And that is important to me, and my future baby.

So during the month of January, my focus is going to be this:

Get active every day. Even if it is just 12 minutes on the elliptical or a 20 minute walk over lunch. Get ACTIVE.

Eat right- No more McDonald's trips or Applebee's lunches during work. Bring my lunch to work every day- and eat the damn thing!

Plan our meals in advance for shopping day- That way we are less likely to eat pizza or carryout. If we have food on hand, there should be no excuse! There just need to be a few Quick and Painless options lying around that don't hurt the healthy lifestyle I'm trying to live.

Less alcohol- this shouldn't be a problem. With the holidays, there have been quite a few empty bottles of Jack in my trash can. But I'm bored with that... and the parties are over and the carefree cash spending month is passed. I just need to make an effort to watch my drinking. One glass of wine after work, or one cocktail should be all I allow myself most days. Of course, the weekends are different, but I'm just saying..... watch the booze because it stimulates my snacketite!

Don't obsess over any of the above goals! This is not going to take over my life! I just want to be focused; have these things in my mind; but not spend hours nit picking each calorie. There will be plenty of time for that when I'm pregnant and can't drink! Lol.
