Maybe a "new year" isn't so bad

Usually I never really set new year’s resolutions. I try to set resolutions whenever I feel the need. And although I am guilty of doing it, I also really try not to be one of those people who say I’ll start my diet on “Monday” or I’ll start being healthy on Jan 1st.

But, I really hated 2008. It was just a bad year all around, and a lot of people I care about felt the same way. So I was kind of glad to have a new year arrive….and I haven’t done too bad so far with my weight loss journey for this year. Or I guess I should say with my “getting healthy” goal.

I worked out this morning, even with all the excuses I could come up flying through my head. I am really proud and surprised with myself. Getting up early and managing to work out on a Friday is NOT the norm for me, which I guess is why I haven’t been losing weight!! So, the fact that I managed to do it today makes me pretty happy.

Now I just need to keep it up!
