I have been in a weight loss contest with coworkers at the school that I teach at. Yesterday was our final weigh in day. Even though I didn't win I did tie for 2nd place. I had lost a total of 11 pounds!! I had lost 13, but over the Thanksgiving holiday I put on about 5 pounds. It has been a slow, steady process, but I am making some headway. I am really beginning to tell a difference in my eating habits. I have been eating much smaller portions for quite a while now. My husband's work had a Christmas Meal at Reno's on Sat. night and I was ready to splurge that one night, even though I knew Monday was my final weigh in day. Much to my suprise I filled up much quicker than I normally would have and do bad at all with my calorie intake. I think I am starting a new lifestyle that I will be able to stick to. This is saying a lot considering when I got married 11 years ago I only weighed 95 pounds at the age of 22 and was trying desperately to put on some weight. I have to go from one extreme to another. I know I wasn't huge when I started this weight loss plan, but I also knew that my body had reached the age where the pounds were adding up quickly. I hope to start making some new friends through this blog that can help support and encourage me along the way and vice versa!
