No Easy Solutions, Just Painful Trade-offs

I am a pharmacist at an acute mental hospital. We have a new psychiatrist who is just full of fascinating quotes and tid-bits. He used this one today while discussing a struggling alcoholic patient. I quickly realized it applies to so many things, but it really rang true to me with my dieting journey this year.
"There are no easy solutions, just painful trade-offs."
Wow- How I'm learning that! It's not easy to lose weight. There's a price we pay for everything, i.e.- "painful trade-offs".
Of course you reap what you earn. Sometimes we make the decision that the price is too high. That's what I've done without really thinking about it in all my previous weight loss attempts. I think it's important to acknowledge that just like everything else worth acheiving, losing weight is NOT easy. But it IS worth it. I AM worth it.
