Sitting on a Plateau

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I am humbly joining the great number of people on this site who have hit a plateau. From other people's blogs, I have seen that plateaus can last for weeks or months, and that the important thing is not to give up! I've also been trying to do my part by logging my food, water, and exercise. I've been doing interval training and now I'm mixing up my exercises more ... cycling one day, eliptical the next, etc. I have been inconsistent with strength training so I know that needs to be more of a priority.

147 isn't a bad place to be but I don't want to stay here forever. It is 12 pounds from a healthy BMI and I'm at high risk for diabetes, so those 12 pounds need to go! It's been a couple years since I have held this weight for any length of time, so perhaps it is a natural place for my body to stop and rest for awhile. My clothes have been getting looser, so 'something' is happening. I'm just wondering when the scale will agree!

I can't wait to be 147, you are doing great! Looser clothes, healthier you, and the weight will unplateau soon. I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

With you changing up your exercising routine you will see some change. Try playing with your calorie intake....(like one day 500 less than norm and the next 500 more than norm) this will trick your body also and change it up...I hope you will see a change soon. I was on a plateau for 3 months when I started SP, then I changed it up and it helped...Good luck honey..

I'm guessing that when you hit the slopes that scales will be singing a different tune! Take heart, you are doing super!

You are doing a great job on the fitness challenge too! Keep up the good work!

I've been on a plateau for months, and the scale will move. Just keep doing what you're doing.

Good for you getting close to your healthy BMI Moro. It must be frustrating to be so close and not seeing the numbers on the scale move. Hang in there muscle weighs more than fat so you are probably gaining more muscle and therefore not noticing it on the scale. Seems tho that your clothes are getting looser so you are going in the right direction. My hats off to you for making to a healthier BMI and you have inspired me to pick up the weights again. You can do it and just remember you are worth it!!! emoticon Star. :o)
