I shared this with a dear SP friend the other day...and then thought: why not share it with all of you!! So...
During a time in our marriage that was very rocky , our daughter was but 11 years old. That affected her so hard. We did family counseling and she had counseling on her own...but she still held onto anger and she internalized many lies from the enemy.
In Stephanie's teen years, she became bulimic which at one point she was hospitalized for. During her junior year of high school, Stephanie tried to kill herself....and in Illinois that comes with a mandatory 2 week hospitalization.
It wasn't all that long ago that I laid in bed crying and I told Mike that I was praying that God would allow Stephanie to find a Christian man that would love both her and Owen...I felt it was selfish for me to pray that because my motive seemed to be I needed to know she would be taken care of when I moved to Malawi. It wasn't long after that, that Stephanie met Andy...
5 years ago, I thought Stephanie was going to die. 2 years ago she had a child out of wedlock and wanted nothing to do with the Lord. 4 days ago, Stephanie spoke vows before the Lord pledging her love for Him and for a wonderful Chritian man...who, by the way, loves her AND Owen deeply.
Miracles do happen. I am thankful.
