moving slow

It has been a while since I blogged. I been working on a new team and it is coming along great we are small but we are active. We have some really great helpful members. My workout program is coming slow so I am thinking of joining a gym just to jump start the weight loss again. The first 20 can off fairly well but this last 20 will not move. I had hope to be at my goal by now so I have to adjust things a bit. I know I can do this I just let life get in the way. Having so many living in the house has made things harder to do. I am not doing the cooking right now so I have lost control of what is put on the table and when I see all the good food that DD has made I loss it and over eat. Thankfully I have not gained the weight back but I have not lost and that has me worried. When the middle of winter is here and it is harder to get outside to walked I am afraid the I will be over my starting weight. I do not have a crystal ball but the writing is on the wall so to speak.

    Life has a habit of getting in the way. I know that all too well. The trick is to make adjustments and be flexible. Your routine doesn't have to be rigid to be successful. You'll get back on track and be coming up with new ideas before too long.

    Yup, Patty, I gotta agree with WATP DVD's and Leslie Sansone - you don't need a lot of room and can do them just about anywhere there's a TV & a DVD player. Re your DD's cooking - how lucky are you!!! Just try cutting down on your portions which does take some training, but you can do it - you'll still be tasting everything and DD won't feel offended. Re joining a gym - is there a Curves within a reasonable distance? I've been going there for 5 yrs. now and highly recommend it - it's unlike other co-ed gyms - and it's up to you just how hard you work the machines. It's a combo of cardio & strength training in just 30 min. a session and it's recommended you attend 3x/wk to see results. There are a number of supportive Curves teams on SP - I belong to the Curvey Crew. Perhaps you could read about it in some of the teams.

    Winter walking is not enjoyable to me either. Have you tried a walking DVD - Leslie Sansone has some great ones - you can walk 1 to 4 miles in the warmth, safety and comfort of your own home. Nice of DD to cook for you though - have you thought of sharing some healthy cooking strategies with her? It would be win/win then.
