HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!!

Saturday, November 15, 2008

THIS BLOG IS DEDICATED TO MY MOTHER. AS MUCH AS I LOVE HER I CAN HONESTLY SAY WE HAVEN'T ALWAYS GOTTEN ALONG. BIG SURPRISE I KNOW. I'M SURE THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD UPS AND DOWNS WITH THEIR MOTHERS.

I WAS ALWAYS CLOSER TO MY DAD. WE WERE MORE ALIKE I THINK. OR I THOUGHT. THE OLDER I GET I REALIZE THAT MAYBE MOTHER AND I DIDN'T GET ALONG COZ WE WERE TOO MUCH ALIKE. IT SEEMS LIKE THE OLDER I GET, WHENEVER I OPEN MY MOUTH, MY MOTHER IS THE ONE SPEAKING. THAT IS A FUNNY THING FOR ALL OF US. WHEN WE ARE YOUNG , WE SAY " I WILL NEVER SAY THAT TO MY KID" FAMOUS LAST WORDS. THEN THE DAY COMES AND BYGOSH, BYGOLLY, OUT COME THOSE DREADED WORDS.

THEN YOU GO THRU THE STAGE WHERE IT SEEMS LIKE WHEN YOU SAY WHITE, SHE SAYS BLACK. OR VICAVERSA. THAT IS ME WITH MY MOTHER. SOMETIMES WHEN WE TALK , IT GETS HEATED AND WE ARE BOTH TRYING TO MAKE THE OTHER ONE LISTEN TO THE OTHERS POINT OF VIEW. THEN YOU GO BACK TO YOUR RESPECTIVE CORNERS AND COOL DOWN.

THEN COMES THE YEARS WHERE YOU MAY STILL ARGUE, BUT THOSE STUPID THINGS SEEM LIKE THEY DON'T MATTER IN THE GRAND SCHEME OF LIFE. WHERE YOU KNOW THAT ALTHOUGH SHE CAN MAKE YOU CRAZY AND WANT TO PULL YOUR HAIR OUT, YOU KNOW THAT LIFE WILL NEVER BE THE SAME ONCE SHE IS GONE.

THIS IS TO MY MOTHER, WHO LOVED ME, TAUGHT ME TO BE KIND, TO TRY TO HELP IF I COULD, HELPED MAKE ME THE MOTHER THAT I AM, AND AS A CHILD MADE ME FEEL SAFE FROM MOST OF THE HARSHNESS THIS WORLD CAN OFFER. SHE IS QUITE A LADY, AND I LOVE HER! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Deuce, Yes we do become our Mom's sometimes.. After all is said & done, there truly isn't anyone more special than Your Mother.. What a great Tribute to the person who was there for you weather or not you realized it.. I think that Our Mom's are sometimes under rated.. If you had some squabbles, those are the challenges that you have face..Mom's sometimes feel that they know it all & maybe say the wrong things at times, but that doesn't mean that they don't really care..I appreciate what you have done for your Mom.. There should be a book about Mother's & Daughters.. What a tough combination at times.. Happy Birthday Carol's Wonderful Mom.. Love You Dearly My Carol.. Always Polly

WELL SAID, DEUCE. EVEN WHEN OUR MOTHERS DRIVE US NUTS, WE ARE STILL SO FORTUNATE TO HAVE THEM. CHERISH EVERY DAY THAT YOU HAVE WITH HER.

This is a beautiful tribute to your mother. And boy, howdy, can I relate to the whole "turning into our mothers" thing! Good thing that, at the end of the day, our moms were pretty extraordinary people.

BRAVA BRAVA, WHAT A GREAT RELATIONSHIP YOU CAN HAVE WITH YOUR MOM WHEN YOU DO NOT ALLOW FOOLISH PRIDE AND STUBBORNESS TO TAINT ANY KIND OF RELATIONSHIP YOU CAN HAVE WITH YOUR MOM....

MY MOM IS GONE, BUT I FEEL THE SAME WAY YOU DO, AND ACTUALLY I NOW HAVE A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF HER AND HER OWN DEMONS NOW THAT I HAVE RAISED 3 OF MY OWN, AND DID IT MY WAY BUT STILL WITH THAT MIX OF MOM IN THERE TOO.

YUP CHERRISH THE TIME WITH HER, PERHAPS TAKE THE TIME TO AQUIRE THOSE GREAT LISTENING SKILLS THAT WE GET WITH MORE MATURITY...AS I DO NOT THINK WE STOP GROWING AND MATURING..THAT WILL BE LIKE OUR EARS AND NOSE, ALWAYS GROWING. HUGGGS TO YOU AND YOUR MOM...WHAT A WONDERFUL DEDICATION !!! emoticon

Deuce - Happy Birthday to your Mom... I think that you are right and we all go through that with our moms... I know that I did for sure... But we were on our way to getting closer again when she passed away... While I know that we would have gotten even closer I am happy that things were moving in the right direction... So cherish those days with her... You don't know when they will end... Bottom line I'm sure she knows that you love her... That's really all that matters...

It is nice that you dedicated your blog to her...

Hope you get to take her for that luncheon soon...

    ((hugs))
