Week and a half of PT

Things are slowly getting better.
Many of my "exercises" are stretches. Muscles are releasing. Yesterday we added another strengthening exercise. Part of the reason for the pain is that my hamstrings and quads have been doing too much work and glutes not enough. Glutes aren't strong (geez...with all the spinning, squats, lunges!!!). Other muscles have been compensating and throwing everything out of whack which has caused the pain.

Good news is I'll be better. I'm getting tired of no cardio so I asked yesterday...can I go to spin class? treadmill? eliptical? I got the okay for the (sigh) recumbent bike, water walking, or swimming. I can also do upper body and abs. But nothing else for legs until the PT says so (not even a walk!). They want the RIGHT muscles doing the work & I understand that.

So today, I'll suck it up and go sit on the boring ol recumbent bike (I find them incredibly uncomfortable). I might start some swimming but chlorine is so tough on swimsuits, I'd want to go buy a cheap one just for that purpose.
And I've still got 2 hours/day of PT exercises to do!

Lisa... making sure all muscles develop proportionally is a fine is the main reason I still pay a personal trainer after more than 5 years training. She makes sure every muscle is worked properly! I too hate being away from the exercise I love, but you will get back to patient.

Wow, Lisa! What an ordeal! I'm glad you're following their suggestions, though. You'll be back at the things you love before you know it!! I'm so glad you checked in...been thinking about ya!
