Well today was the first day, and already messed up. I left for work late, and competely forgot to pack my lunch. But that's ok, it's monday lol. I am a little discouraged after reading through the recipies, and budget meals. There are alot of things out there, but are way beyond what I am able to afford. Or can feed to picky eaters. I also can not afford to make two meals, one for me and one for them. So, i guess what I will do is just change my snacking with better types of snacks and smaller portions of what I can afford. Eating healthy is expensive! I guess that is why I don't eat healthy. I will just rearrange how I cook what I can afford, don't add extra stuff (lots of sour cream lol), and look at not snacking as much. Maybe by not snacking as much I will have the money to get healthier food.

It really doesn't have to be so expensive to eat well.
My family was none too pleased when we began a healthier way of eating.. but, now, when we visit family, they will forgo sweets and eat healthy.
What kinds of foods do you like? There are lots of ways to make them healthier!
I like for hints on stretching your dough. She has come in handy more than a few times in this house! She also has a dieting section.
You just have to prioritize, and figure out menus. On Sunday nights, I sit down and plot out all of the food I will be fixing, and shop accordingly. Go shopping in your cabinets first. Make a list of dinners you could fix NOW. Write those dinner titles down... do the same for breakfast & lunch. (We do a lot of leftovers for lunch). Then, move onto things like, "Okay, I have noodles, but no pasta sauce" type things... those go on your shopping list & on your menu...I even put in slots for snacks... we do apples & sunbutter, but you could do peanut butter if there are no allergies in your family.

Lessen the amount of meat you eat. This makes money room for other things. Beans, milk and eggs will give you protein and are lighter on the budget.
There are TONS of ways to diet on a budget, and eat healthy, too! Google "Frugal Diet" and lots of pages will pop up.
Also, splitting your calories into manageable mini meals helps. You must plan, plan, plan...There's a quote I like: When you fail to plan, you plan to fail...

Hope that helps! If you need extra help, email me!

    emoticon and good luck!
