At the beginning of this week, one of my beloved team leaders challenged us to come up with some mini goals for the week. No problem - I'll do my strength training, eat my salad and get my sleep. The whole exercise made me feel quite organized, disciplined and somewhat superior to rest of the lazy world.

Then, this morning while running, I started thinking of bigger goals. And I came up with some great ones, GREAT BIG GOALS! I share them here to keep myself honest in front of the two or three of you (ha!) who may read this blog ---

2008 - I've already started running 5Ks and will run my 3rd 5K next weekend. The rest of the goals spring from that.

2009 - Complete the BEACH TO BEACON 10K here in Maine.

2010 - Complete a SPRINT TRIATHLON (the challenge that made me start my running journey in the first place) - I will be 50 when I do this!

2011 - Complete the DISNEY PRINCESS HALF MARATHON - and get that tiara!

2012 - Complete the NEW YORK CITY MARATHON - I was inspired by watching coverage of this race last weekend.

Stay tuned for all the reports!

    Hi there!
You've got some fantastically wonderful and definitely achievable goals here! I would have liked to meet you at the LOCO Moose 5K Sunday, but just couldn't find it in myself to trek there to run in the yuck. Sounds like it was a fantastic time tho! I'm a wee bit envious, but on to a new day. Isabelle is great, isn't she? ANYWAY, I digress.....
You can definitely make these fantastic events happen. DEFINITELY. I applaud setting goals, no matter how wild they may seem to be to others. Mine is a Half next Fall...along with Isabelle. Full? Um....dunno about that. My middle sister has accomplished one, but I'm not at a point mentally where I want to think about it, lol.
My younger sister did a Triathalon a couple years back on her birthday, it was in Kennebunk....have you decided on one to shoot for yet? Never you mind about the age either, will be a great way to celebrate 50!
Keep up the great work and positivity!

Thought I'd stop by and see how you're doing. I am so encouraged and inspired by your big goals. My goal for 2009 is a 10K also. I still can't believe I'm saying that, but I'm just taking it a step at a time.

    We can do it!

You're 'Social Butterfly' 5K sounds like so much fun. Runners are amazing people and you can find so much support from them.
