We've all heard the old adage, " You are what you eat." Well, it has never meant more to me than it does today, the day after Halloween. I was going to hand out juice boxes but when I got to the store the kid in me took over & I ended up buying tootsie rolls, caramels and those infamous chocolate coins !
$15.00 later I thought that might not be enough so I also purchased an 18 pk. mix of doritos, 2 kinds and cheesies. Ok that should do it. I went home & sorted all the goodies into there own containers & places the tempting display at my front door in anticipation of all trick or treaters who would soon begin their annual treck to my stoop .10 came ! 10 ? NOooooooooooo! There will be more. I'll wait . ..............................
..I waited. ..............................
... & I waited. 10 ...... THAT'S IT !? 10 !? .............but , but I have all these goodies!
It's over! It came & it went in 10 tricks or treats . Poof ! Gone ! ................The treats remain. Ok well, that's alright 'cause I read, on sparkpeople, that 1 or 2 pieces of candy won't make or break you so I thought ,"Yeah I've been eating really healthy since I started this journey to a healthier me so perhaps I'll have myself a little treat." After all it was Halloween, right. Wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I COULDN'T STOP !! 3 caramels, that wasn't bad. 1 small bag of nachos still not too bad. The 1 chocolate coin that I wanted turned into about 2 dozen, the last 6 or 7 with peanut butter !!! So now, totally ashamed of being so weak & probably having gained back the 3 pounds that I lost, I go to bed.......................
16 hours later, yeah 16, I drag my aching yucky feeling body out of bed. I am thoughouly disgusted ! How gross I feel ! Tonight I am just drinking water to try to flush all that garbage out. Trough this I have learned a valuable lesson about eating right so I guess all is not lost. I will eat healthy for the rest of my life ! "YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT !" emoticon

Does it seem now that kids don't come around as much for Halloween as when we were kids? Next year, Leni, just treat yourself to a fantastic dinner! (grin) And if you happen to do the same thing next year, take it all to your coworkers!
