Positive Thinking Elevates the Spirit

Thursday, October 23, 2008

Quite often on the path to a new habit the drive to succeed is high. One key to maintaining that later on is remembering the power of positive thinking. We all know the overwhelming impact that the 'negatives' have on us, right? Turn the tables.

Most often that is easier said than done though. So when our thoughts are on a high note, jot down the positive thoughts you like to hear. Little comments about the day, how you look, what you have done ~ little pick-me-ups that assure you that YOU are WONDERFUL.

Because YOU ARE!! These special affirmations can be cut apart and put in a jar - to pull out and read when you are having trouble finding those good thoughts. Or simply post it where you can see it each morning as you get ready for your day. Those positive thoughts reveal a real TRUTH.

The 'negatives' ...well, who needs 'em anyway! emoticon

Blessings to you, always.

My goal in my life is to be happy with who I am. If I am content with the seemingly good things and the seemingly bad things, I live a life of peace and contentment.
When something happens I try to look at it as something sent to teach me how to live. So when our car blew a rod bering in Nebraska, we did what we needed to do. We stayed calm. We assessed the situation. We accepted help from the kindly people who came into our path. Our car is now home and it drives beautifully.
I am not sure how we learned this but putting the situation in God's hands and doing the footwork as necessary has been the answer to a lot of situations which in past years would have caused us anguish and anger.
I am not really good at this behavior but I am practicing.
I am also practicing putting my food in God's hands.
I do not understand why, but it makes me feel safer and less tempted.
I also do not put bad food labels on food. If I want it and I only eat the number of calories on my plan, then it is OK.
Feel free to check out my food tracker. My only real concern is the quantity of salt I seem to be eating.
So your ideas of affirmations are something I thought was silly.
But I really think I am going to try to do it.
By the way What kind of Art do you Practice? emoticon
