A Nice Surprise

Tuesday, October 07, 2008

I had made a goal of trying to start going to the gym twice a week, then working up from there. Yesterday was not one of my planned days. My lunch plans got cancelled, so I decided to go workout at the last minute. I didn’t even give myself time for excuses.

Well, I took my time and had a really good work out. And I felt really good, not only for making the effort, but for not having any negative feelings about it. I worked up a good sweat and increased my time on the elliptical by a few minutes.

I guess I’m mostly surprised by what a positive experience it turned out to be, since it started as such a last minute thing. It also made me realize that I make working out into a negative experience most days, and that’s one of my obstacles. It doesn’t have to be so bad, and I know that. I just need to remember it.

I might even go again today….!

I am also guilty as sin as making execise a negative experieince! The key was finding things to do that I enjoyed and then just letting my mind go while I do them. Try looking at it as 'you' time... GRIN!

Go again! You deserve it because you are SO worth it!
