We decided to head out today to make-up the run we missed earlier this week. My husband and I had no idea how our run would go after the 5K yesterday. He's not really run 2 days in a row. I have, but it's been a while. We ran on Forbidden Drive again. The weather was much nicer today. I walked next to our daughter while she rode her bike and my husband did his run. When he got back, he stayed with her and I went out on my run.

I went with the same 2.5 mile route I did last time. I shaved about a full minute off of my previous Forbidden Drive run, or 24 sec/mile off of my average pace. The last three runs I've had (two 2.5 mile runs and the 5K yesterday), I've averaged about a 14:14 pace. Today my run results were: 35 minutes, 39 seconds; Avg pace- 14:15, Avg HR- 166, Max HR- 178, .22g fat burned, 450 kCal fat burned, 86% training rate, above zone almost the entire time.

After we finished training, we decided to hike with our daughter up one of the hills and then take a trail back down. Then, we walked up another gravel road uphill to the Tree House. Unfortunately, it was closed and we made our way back down so we could drive over to pick-up our son from tennis lessons.

Overall, I'm pretty happy with the consistency. I need to get a little better about my cross-training and strength/stretching days.

    Absolutely wonderful to read this blog entry, especially about making workout part of family time and exploration time! Your method of switching off parental duty so one parent can complete her/his run is SUCH a good idea.
