Today I bought 2 books on raw food by Carol Alt. I needed something besides online info. There are some things that I read that had me concerned about this way of eating, read some horror stories but after reading her story I know that if I work at it I can do it. I need a dehydrator, that will be my next online search, but I'm not working until Oct and will have to make do until then. Today I ate raw all day and then for dinner decided to eat cooked food. I could feel the difference almost immediately. It only confirmed for me that I do want to stick with the raw food. I feel so much better when I eat raw, no cravings, lighter, no stomach problems. As soon as I finished eating I had to have something sweet. I had that full uncomfortable feeling most of the evening. This way of eating does take some more preparation but I'm going to try and keep it simple. I'll be raw most of the week, and once in awhile will eat cooked food. I've been up and down the weight loss yo-yo for years and every year its harder to lose. My original idea of doing this was for weight loss but I like the way I feel. The book states that if you eat "70% raw you will see a significant change in your health, beauty, mood, and overall well-being." That's for me.
I'm trying this one day at a time.
