The tortoise and the heir

When I ultimately committed to a life style change I was totally stoked ! ! My commitment has not changed but I get totally pissed off as I listen to others speak of their weight loss success when their plan is the latest fad diet. I bust my butt at the gym 5 days a week and manage to stay in my calorie range just so she can cut out carbs and loose 6 pounds this week ! ! ! I try to remind my self that I'm doing this for the long term results. It would be a little more encouraging if my body would show more success and let go of some of this fat. When it comes to fat and weight loss I remember the mucinex commercial (you have to see it) where the mucus doesn't want to leave the body.

I guess the root of my anger is that I am very SLOWLY seeing success and a few others have jumped on the latest fad and are kind of bragging on their overnight weight loss. I put a lot of work into my healthier life style. I read a lot of the articles on spark and have learned a tremendous amount. I'm more excited to maintain my weight goal more than I am to just get to the lower scale number. I don't know. . . . . I guess I'm just rambling ! ! ! ok, I'll get off the pot now, lol !

I can second all that! In the end, you'll keep it off and they won't...longer to get there longer to stay there and thats that!

oh, hang in there! It is frustrating to see that happen, but just know you are doing this the best way--the right way. Slow and steady. The latest fad diet or starvation plan won't work in the long run. Your new healthy lifestyle will.

    hugs. ;)

I have to say that I agree with you. I know it can be frustrating when you KNOW you're doing it the right & healthy way, but yet you lose slower compared to someone that's not doing it the best way. Just remember that you're more likely to keep your weight off, because let's face it... those people can't spend forever on Weight Waters, NutriSystem, or whatever they may be on. Eventually they are going to have to go at it alone and when they are in the real world they will have to make decisions. I've heard of TONS of people that have gone on the no carb for 30 day diet and they lose a tremendous amount of weight, but as soon as their 30 days are up they gain all of the weight back.

To be honest, I thought about doing one of those diets but then I read up on them and realized that it would be better for me to do it the ol' fashioned way. Good ol' diet and exercise. And by diet, I don't mean spending a crazy amount on pre-prepared packaged meals that get dropped off at my doorstep. Haha.

Just remember that you're doing it the healthy way and you're going to lose that weight for now & forever! That should make you happy. :]
