We will NEVER forget !!

Why

GRIEF AND SORROW STRUCK THIS NATION
IN AN UNEXPLAINABLE WAY
LEAVING US SURROUNDED BY TEARS AND SORROW
AND ONLY ONE THING LEFT TO SAY

WHY
WHY DID THIS HAVE TO HAPPEN
WHAT DID WE DO THAT WAS SO WRONG
WHY DID YOU HAVE TO TAKE OUR LOVED ONES
HOW DO WE REPLACE WHAT IS GONE

BUT WE WILL NOT GO QUIETLY
WE WILL STAND UP AND FIGHT
UNITED WE WILL STAND TOGETHER
FOR WHAT IS TRUE FOR WHAT IS RIGHT

HERO'S ROSE OUT OF THE ASHES
TO SAVE A LIFE WE THOUGHT WAS LOST
NEVER THINKING OF WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN
NEVER CARING WHAT THE COST

THEY DIDNT DO IT FOR THE GLORY
THEY DIDNT DO IT FOR THE FAME
THEY ONLY DID WHAT THEY KNEW WAS RIGHT
THEY ARE OUR HERO'S THAT HAVE NO NAME

UNITED WE CAN BUILD A BETTER TOMORROW
LET US FINISH WHAT THEY BEGAN TO START
LET US SAY A PRAYER FOR THEM TOGETHER
AND KEEP THEM CLOSE IN OUR HEART

I will never forget that day. I stood on a playground with my Pre-K class as we suddenly were shocked by a low flying plane. Then to hear about the plane crash in PA that day. While I was not near The World Trade Center- I will never forget the fear as my co-workers and I ran the children back inside.
Bless all those still suffering the pain of their losses.

My son was going to go to NYC that day with a friend but the friend wasn't feeling well and they didn't go. Thank God.

I still find so much of 9-11 to be "beyond odd."

Thanks Ro. This is definitely something we will never forget. It's funny though..... I looked at the list of victims and my cousin who was a fire captain in Staten Island and was killed at the WTC's name wasn't on it.

Thanks for sharing the poem and the rememberance.

You are right , We will never forget and we will never be the same after that most horific nightmare.
Sept 11th means so many things to me being I was a active firefighter at the time of thoses attacks , how I lost a brother from our firehouse.
    I will never forget ever!

Thank you for the poem, hope you don't mind but I'm going to borrow it and share it with a few other teams. (Didn't realize they still had a site with all the names)

I had already changed the profile pic but lost what I had been saving for today when the laptop took a powder, but I like the poem you found. We didn't loose pictures of that day and the following days, watched them last night.
