I've started a 16 week New Year Weight Loss challenge, and today is the first day. I'm pretty excited about it, because the holidays are coming and thats usually the time of the year that I just say 'Screw it' and eat whatever I want. And we've all seen how well THAT works out. So I'm determined this year, with the help of the other 21 ladies on the team, to make it through this year with no excuses.
Fall is coming. It's so cool here. 50s and 60s. It's heaven for me. Jeans and hoodies. Blankets while watching movies. Cuddling. Crisp cool clean air. Pumpkin patches and apple crisp. These things make me happy. It's coming to that time where I'm gonna be wanting to make some pumpkin muffins soon. I love me some pumpkin muffins. Autumn here isn't all that great to look at. Not like in Wisconsin. Wisconsin falls are absolutely GORGEOUS. Beautiful yellows and oranges and reds, like a freakin' catalog picture. Here it goes right from green to brown. Don't get me wrong, I love brown, but it leaves something to be desired when you're used to the gorgeous fall colors that Wisconsin has to offer.
This morning I weighed in under 170 pounds!!! I'm at 169.4, exactly where I wanted to be to start this challenge. I'm 6.4 away from not being OBESE! It's a really good feeling, and I am feeling motivated and excited for the upcoming months when it comes to weight loss. I feel as though over the last 9 months I've risen to the challenge of making my favorite foods healthier and eating those not-so-healthy things in moderation, so this is going to be a test for me.
Last night I made pizza rolls! Just like the ones at Old Chicago that will probably kill you if you eat the whole plate. These were awesome. And I made enough to have leftovers for lunch today.
I'm going to break out my crock pot today and make some crock pot lasagne for dinner. Comfort foods what? I'm longing for the days of taco soup and Chili and pumpkin muffins and hot chocolate, spiced tea and warm apple cider.
