Being a twin.

Sunday, August 24, 2008

O.k. so I was asked about being a twin, and I was having problems figuring out why I was being asked. Then it hit me. Goofy me, I have a habit of calling my baby sister my twin. It's really a running family joke all because of me being a brat back in school. I was in 5th grade when my teacher told me that I had to write about my family. I thought that it was boring. so me, starting young at writing, decided to write about my fantasy of my family. (yes my mind was making up all sorts of stories when I was young) I wrote a story about how my mother had problems with conception, she had endometriosis, pollops, and scaring on her lining, plus the fact that she only had one egg due to these medical problems. Then I went into the story of our split in the zygote form, and explained that it could only be done due to we had been fraternal twins. I explained about how the cells split and at what level this procedure had been taken. You ask where this would come into play with a 5th grader and her it is, Basically I loved to read and had gotten in to my dad's medical school books. (he was in the middle of nursing school at the time.)

The story goes that my parents conceived us and my mother went through a trial program where she underwent a procedure to cryogenically freeze one of the two fertilized eggs. Since my sister and I were fraternal twins and not identical twins. At this Point I put in a bunch of technical info. This was to account for the 10 year age gap between us. My teacher not dumb asked why my brother was only 4 years my younger and I explained that he was called mommy's little surprise. (I'm guessing this was embarrassing to her so she didn't push this point) To say the least my teacher thought it was the coolest thing and I got an A.

I was so happy about the A I took it home and showed my mom. She read the paper, that I excelled at she called the teacher and explained that it was a great paper but it was a work of fiction. This is the reason to that I have a habit of saying she is my twin. We still look alike but we are not really twins. Sometimes I feel like we are though. I'll be calling her and she be thinking about it. Who knows what God really has in mind. Just one of those things.

So there is my story and I'm sticking to it, LOL! emoticon

Lori you are a terrific person, and your imagination is definitely a factor in that. I am in awe that you were able to come up with so much at such a young age, but not surprised.
