Why can't my mind and body be on the same page?

Saturday, August 09, 2008

Just wanted to give an update. I had been doing great with my weight and then started having health issues ( I won't go into everything because I don't want a pity party).

It was frustrating because I was on such a roll with my workouts, teams and weight shedding and then all of a sudden BAM - my mind and body were on two separate pages. I got really sick and couldn't do anything. My doctor had me on limited bedrest with NO working out and trying to be as stressfree as possible.

It was so hard taking a week off from working out, especially being a team leader and feeling compelled to set an example. I love being a team leader because it helps me to not make excuses and get my butt into shape so it was especially hard to take a back seat.

I am thankful for my family and all my friends who have been so supportive and super-duper encouraging.

I can't wait to be back on track to accomplishing my goals.

    Hi, Anastasia.

I'm so sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. Even though you can't workout, you can still motivate and encouarage others. Just get the rest that you need and hopefully, you'll be back on track soon.

    Feel better,

You are leading. You are leading the many of us who need to put our health as Number one! I hope this passes soon so you can get back to it! If not you will deal.

I hope you are feeling better! I've essentially been struggling with the same problem for two years, but it has never caused any real physical problems for me- and now I know I've been lucky in that way. You're a great team leader, and we're all here for you too!

Dude, you are doing AWESOME! do not sweat the few weeks that you cannot work out! your body needs to heal and this is the only way! So take it easy and know that my thoughts are with you!

I am sorry you're not feeling well. I understand the brain and the body being on the wrong page! My brain thinks we are still 18 and the body feels like it is 85!! The things I want to do are very hard for my body to do. I get very ANGRY at the body for falling apart when the brain is so ready to go.

One day at a time. Take a little time off to give yourself a good rest. Then start back VERY SLOWLY or you will hurt yourself and then you will really be screwed.

Hope you feel better real soon!
    Hugs and bestest wishes,

You know what... Instead of thinking about all that is ahead of you, think about all that you've accomplished so far. I know that whatever you are going through right now must be difficult. BUT, soon you'll be better (I hope) and you can continue onto your next goal and you WILL be successful.

Just remember you have your sparkfriends and remember that you have accomplished so much already!!! You should be proud of yourself and, don't worry everything is going to be okay! I know, you can do this!!!

    Your SparkFriend,

I know it's hard for you to take a break from your workouts, but your body does need a break once and a while. Everyone on the team knows you are a great team leader and you never fail to put a smile on my face. Listen to your doctor, thats why he makes the big $$$$$.

Your body's telling you something, you just need to decipher it! Healing always takes precedence, so lean on the encouragement of friends and family and get well soon.
