My first run!

So today was my first scheduled run to kick off my start of the couch to 5k running program. I'm really excited, and it went great. Before I left I had imagined I would have been able to go a little past 20 minutes, but I didn't, but I'm glad. When I got back I felt accomplished but not EXHAUSTED. My feet and neck hurt a little, which I know my feet hurt because of my lack of good running shoes, WHICH I should be getting soon, hopefully. My neck on the other hand, is just always a problem. Ugh.

I also encountered the traditional feeling of burning and itching in my calves, which I remember from last summer when I used to use the treadmill all the time. Hopefully that'll be gone soon though.

I woke up at 6:30 to help mimic the same time frame I would need to wake up in the morning to jog before school started, except it would be even earlier, like 5:30. It's so pointless to have a HIGH SCHOOL start that early in the morning, no wonder so many people are a dropout.

    I just started this program too.
    Are you doing the intervals as laid out in the plan, or are you doing your own thing?

    I'm really overweight and have never really run before...but I've pulled off the first two workouts doing 60 seconds jogging and 90 second walking.

    I'm excited to read about your progress.
