CALM WATERS!

Monday, August 04, 2008

SO FINALLY THE DOCTORS' OFFICE HAS CALLED ON MY BLOOD TEST.

I REALIZE THAT THEY DO A LOT OF TESTS AS A PRECAUTION. THAT IS WHAT THIS BLOOD TEST WAS. NORMALLY MY CA125 IS LOW. IN DECEMBER IT WAS 4.1. WHEN I HAD IT DONE IN JUNE IT WAS 16.4, SO THEY DECIDED TO DO IT AGAIN 4 WKS LATER.
NOW IT WAS IN THE NORMAL LIMITS AT 16 BUT BECAUSE IT WENT UP FROM 4 TO 16 THE DOCTOR DECIDED THAT IT WAS BEST TO HAVE ANOTHER ONE DONE.
I DON'T MIND THE TEST, BUT THE WORRY THAT GOES WITH IT CAN MAKE YOU OLD AND GREY BEFORE YOUR TIME. (TO ALL THOSE WHO KNOW ME, NO SMART REMARKS ON THAT STATEMENT)
I HAD TO WAIT A WEEK AND 18 GREY HAIRS LATER FOR THEM TO CALL AND TELL ME IT WENT DOWN TO 14 SO IT IS IN NORMAL LIMITS AND NO PROBLEM. JUST LIKE THAT . ALL THE THOUGHTS AND WORRIES ARE SUPPOSED TO FALL AWAY AT THE MENTION OF A NUMBER.
IT WAS ONLY 2 PTS LOWER AND NOW IT IS FINE. I GUESS IF IT GOES DOWN THEN IT DOESN'T MATTER WHAT THE NUMBER IS.

I KNOW I'M JABBERING, BUT I NEED TO, JUST TO LET OUT THE THOUGHT DEMONS THAT SIT IN THE CORNERS OF MY MIND.

SO I GUESS THAT IS THE END TO THIS PORTION OF MY WOES FOR NOW. ANOTHER BLOOD TEST AWAITS IN 4 MONTHS AND THEN WHO KNOWS.

DON'T GET ME WRONG ,I'M GLAD FOR THE GOOD NEWS. NOW IF I COULD GET RID THE GREY HAIR AS FAST AS I GOT IT, I'D BE A HAPPY CAMPER!!!

THANKS FOR WORRYING WITH ME AND ALL YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS.

Deuce, I've been thinking about you a lot lately.. We have a great team for Chronic pain that Peggy joined.. It's private but for some reason all that are on this team are so filled with so much love & tenderness.. They really understand what we are all going through.. I've been trying to get Marla over there..We are all ready to welcome her, & she is really looking forward to joining us.. Her site won't let her except any invites.. We have to figure out what she needs to do.. I know that you would fit right in, & if ever you decide that you might want to join in, it's so great for health support.. All it is just one post daily & everyone is satisfied.. I go on once a day if I'm able to & I feel so much comfort.. Please let me know if you are interested..We don't put any pressures on anybody there to join in.. It's just a ful place, where all of our pains are forgotten with so much fun & lots of TC.. Marla has to ck with Technical support how to fix here link so that she can accept the Invite.. We sometimes get very out of control there.. Just ask Our Sweet wonderful Peggy.. LOL Love & Hugs Always Polly I do Pray for you all the time.. My thoughts are with you as well..

I get that tests done too; my doctor has told me a lot of things can make it rise that have nothing to do with cancer, mine will rise if I have a cold or am sick at the time of the test, or if I am on antibiotics. My doctor doesn't get alarmed unless it is way higher than normal, then he will order other tests such as a CT scan.

Mine skyrocketed before I was diagnosed with the bone mets, but even after my first treatment for those, the number started going down. It's been over a year now, and it's still staying where it should be.

emoticon I know what it is like to wait for test results, I'm glad that you are ok! Those tests can really cause anxiety at times.

Deuce - Glad the results are lower. I'm a worrier like you & Kathy. My great-grandfather used to say "Worrying is like sitting in a rocker.. it doesn't get you anywhere." Ain't that the truth?
You've been thru so much lately & it's understandable to worry so much. Besides, what's another gray hair between friends? Love ya, Marla

    Deuce,
So happy to hear your good news... Whew! Now let it all go and relax... A friend once shared this statement with me ( I'm a worrier too) it stated "Worry is the darkroom where negatives are developed".
So next time lets think and say only positive things... and not them demons brew in your mind.
Hang in there my friend... You have been through so much in your short lifetime. You are such a strong lady to handle all that you have been dealt.

ok ok... I'll stop now... But I do mean it... I BOW to you... ( this time... lol)

    ((HUGS))

So thankful for the news! You are a trooper in this thing called life. So dont you forget it. The administrative assistant in my department is a 3 time cancer survivor- first of the breast in the 90s and then of the stomach several years go and now of the bone. She does treatment for the bone but the bone will never go away so she lives with it. She does treatments, walks marathons, etc. She tells us that its going to take a lot more for god to take her out.
