Well here I am, at the start of another week. I am happy to report that I stuck through it this weekend. I gave in to temptation on Friday... really, how can a girl resist dark chocolate and caramel? But I had one small piece (relatively speaking) and I did not feel guilty or let it derail my plans. I continued to lose weight over the weekend. I am down a whopping 13 pounds total!!!

I am really motivated to continue on. I am making healthy choices and staying away from sugar and starchy foods. The shake diet did not work for me at all. But I think the one good thing out of it was that it gave my metabolism a swift kick in the butt. Last week I felt more energetic and optimistic. I rarely feel hungry, or feel like I "have" to have a snack. I also have not had any anxiety issues all week. Bizarre how food can play such a silent role with your emotions and feelings.

My family and friends have been very supportive. My clothes are feeling a little loose. How's that for encouragement? I keep a small notebook with me. In it I write down everything I eat, my meal plans for the week, weight loss and measurement milestones. Every evening I write a few words of what went on during the day and any other thoughts I might have. It a journal/diary in the truest sense.

All in all, last week was a good week and I really look forward to the challenge of being on vacation and still eating healthy this week!
