The experts (Oprah?) say to live life in the now. That is generally my philosphy also, however sometimes when the scale doesn't move for weeks, or the same 3 pounds show up and leave over and over, i find it helpful to review. i wanted to document this so i could give myself a little mental pat on the back (kick in the pants?) lol

Our hospital does a health fair every year and draws labwork. My lipids were getting out of control,,, nothing like seeing it in print that you need to do something. May of 2007 my total cholersterol was 235, this year it was 200. Last year my triglycerides were 326 (eeek!), this year 111. Last year my HDL was 67, this year 62. Last year my LDL was 103, this year it was 116. VLDL has gone from 65 to 22.

Part of my new goals will be to improve my HDL and LDL, but i am very happy with the other results. I feel like my regular walking schedule and fish oil are working.

I guess we get so wound up in the present moment, that we forget to reflect on how far we've come.
